Walking through its ancient avenues (it was set up in 1805 by the Emperor Napoleon as an agricultural estate and a hunting reserve), you have the feeling of crossing a small nineteenth-century microcosm, breathing its suggestive atmospheres and imagining the fashions and vices of court life at the time.
One of Europe’s largest Parks parks ,the area of the park extends over a vast area: of 688 hectares of greenery (for a third of which is forest, while the rest foris meadowland), nearly three times that of Versailles (250 hectares). The Monza Park’s wall includes the remains of the medieval walls of the city and is 14 km long.
By foot, bicycle and train: By train If you are fit, you can walk along the tree-lined Park Avenue or pedal cycle a rented bikecycle rental at Cascina Bastia. Here you may also rent monopattini and tandems! For the little ones, you can also a tour of the park on a wonderful little train. The journey (about 30 minutes) starts at Villa Mirabello.
Golf, tennis, horseback riding, swimming: Practice your favourite sport during your stay in Monza. The Monza Park is a beautiful open-air gym with many sports facilities. The Park also houses the National Autodromo, an international motor racing circuit.
